The lady in white

Audacious hopes

Your loquacious eyes,
Twinkle with audacious hope,
You once said,
We shall conquer the highest peak,
And fathom the deepest crevice.
The rhythm of your heart,
And the warmth of my scarlet blood,
Assures me that we shall survive,
Tests of time that flung upon us,
A macabre of insults
Suspicion, lovelessness,
 and distrust.
We are now,
Skeletons of our loving past,
Brutally stripped and exposed.
Waiting to be clothed in flesh,
To restore the warmth of our scarlet blood.
